Frequently asked questions

Can I use a generic Cortex-M3 device profile in my IDE, or do I need a Stellaris-specific driver pack?

The LM3S1162 requires the Stellaris Driver Library — TI's StellarisWare package — which is separate from the TivaWare library used on the successor TM4C line. They are not API-compatible. Migrating a Studio 5000 or similar project to Tiva means rewriting the peripheral driver layer, not just rebinding the device file.

Do you have the UL/IEC 62368-1 or RoHS declaration packs for this part?

Declaration packs for EOL/NRND parts are sourced through TI directly or via the broker channel at point of purchase — not held in distributor inventory. Request the CoC and RoHS confirmation from your supplier at RFQ, and allow additional lead time for document retrieval on this part.
