It is still available for existing production and repair orders, but it is not recommended for new designs. A future EOL transition is expected.
A pin-compatible replacement within the Stellaris LM3S1000 series — sharing the same 100-LQFP footprint and peripheral set — can serve as a drop-in swap with a firmware recompile. Check the current lifecycle status of the candidate part before qualifying it into a new BOM.
The core runs at 50 MHz, which is enough for real-time control loops, protocol parsing, and sensor fusion in industrial applications.
