What the 50 MHz core and 64 KB Flash mean for your BOM
The LM3S1150-EQC50-A2: Its 50 MHz core delivers enough throughput for motor-control loops, sensor fusion, and industrial protocol bridging without needing an external DSP. If your firmware image approaches 48 KB compiled, you will be tight on headroom for field-update staging.
Peripheral set for industrial control
The 52 GPIOs give enough headroom for a keypad, display, and a handful of sensors without an external port expander. Internal oscillator means one less BOM line, though a precision crystal is still recommended if you need tight baud-rate accuracy on the UARTs.
TI lists the LM3S1150-EQC50-A2 as obsolete. No last-time-buy window remains open through the factory channel. For legacy BOM lines already in production, we can support bridge buys while you migrate.
