Low-voltage dual comparator for battery and industrial sensing
The Texas Instruments LM393LVDGKR is a dual general-purpose comparator designed for single-supply operation from 1.65 V to 5.5 V, making it a natural fit for battery-powered instruments, portable medical devices, and low-voltage industrial sensor interfaces. Each of the two comparators delivers an open-drain, rail-to-rail output that can sink up to 100 mA at 5 V, which is enough to drive a logic input or a small indicator LED without a buffer stage. The 600 ns propagation delay keeps response fast enough for most threshold-detection and overvoltage-latch loops, while the 35 µA max quiescent current per channel lets it sit in always-on monitoring paths without draining the rail.
Temperature grade and deployment environment
Maximum input offset voltage is 2 mV at 5 V. The 5 pA typical input bias current is negligible for high-impedance sources.
