Output type and interface compatibility
The output stage supports CMOS, MOS, open-drain, and TTL logic families. The open-drain option lets you wire-AND multiple comparators on a single pull-up resistor — useful for window comparators or over-temperature detection chains. The 20 mA typical output current drives small relays or optocouplers directly.
For motor drives or outdoor telecom enclosures, the industrial-grade LM393 variant (-40°C to 85°C) is the better fit.
