Boost LED driver with dual 28.5 mA channels
The LM3630ATME is a dual-channel DC-DC boost regulator from Texas Instruments, purpose-built for backlight applications. Each channel delivers 28.5 mA of regulated output current, and the internal switching FET means no external boost diode or MOSFET is needed — the converter and driver are integrated into a single 12-bump DSBGA package. PWM dimming is handled on-chip, so the host processor sends a logic-level PWM signal and the LM3630ATME modulates the LED current accordingly, maintaining constant-current regulation across the dimming range.
Supply, temperature, and package fit
The 12-DSBGA package (1.64 mm × 1.24 mm) is a wafer-level chip-scale package — no molded body, just solder bumps on the die. The pad layout and stencil aperture follow TI's application note for DSBGA assembly; the fine pitch requires a solder mask defined pad and a 0.15 mm stencil for consistent solder joint volume. Surface-mount assembly with tape-and-reel or cut-tape packaging options — the cut-tape variant is available for prototyping without committing to a full reel quantity.
