What the 10 mV/°C scale means on the bench
The LM35H outputs 10 mV per degree Celsius with no external calibration — at 25°C the pin reads 250 mV, at 150°C it reads 1.5 V. That linear scale connects straight to a 10-bit ADC on a 2.5 V reference and gives you 0.25°C per LSB without a scaling resistor.
Temperature range and accuracy across the band
Rated for -55°C to 150°C continuous operation — this is the full military temperature band. The TO-46 hermetic metal can keeps moisture out and the die stable across that swing, unlike plastic-packaged sensors that drift above 125°C. Accuracy is ±1°C typical at 25°C and ±1.5°C over the full range. The wider tolerance at the high end matters if you are monitoring an exhaust or engine bay at 150°C — budget the ±1.5°C into your alarm threshold, not the ±1°C room-temp figure.
Supply flexibility and integration
The quiescent current is under 60 µA, so self-heating stays below 0.1°C in still air. Through-hole TO-46 package (TO-206AB) with three leads: Vs, GND, Vout. The metal case is tied to GND internally, so no separate thermal pad is needed — just bolt it to the surface you are measuring with a dab of thermal compound.
