What the 10mV/°C output means for your BOM line

The LM35CZ: Accuracy is specified at ±1°C, which is the uncalibrated device-level tolerance; the sensor's output impedance is low enough to drive an ADC input directly through a simple RC filter, saving a buffer stage in the signal chain.

TO-92 package — board-fit and replacement reality

The LM35CZ comes in a TO-226-3 / TO-92-3 through-hole package with a 0.100-inch pitch lead frame — the same footprint used by the LM35DZ and LM335Z, so the PCB pad pattern is a standard 0.100-inch three-hole layout with 0.020-inch drill diameter. The flat face of the TO-92 body is the sensing surface; for best thermal response, mount it with the flat face toward the measured object and keep the leads short to minimize heat sinking through the copper traces.
