The LM358APW is a dual general-purpose op-amp from TI's long-running LM358 family, packaged in an 8-TSSOP for surface-mount boards. Pushing it to track a 10 kHz sine wave at full output swing will introduce visible distortion because the slew rate limits the large-signal bandwidth to roughly 0.3 V/µs ÷ (2π × V_peak). For a 5 V peak signal, that caps clean output around 9.5 kHz. If your BOM calls for audio-band or fast-control-loop amplification, this is not the part; step up to a rail-to-rail input/output device with 10+ V/µs.
Supply range and current — where it fits on the power budget
Operating from a single 3 V to 30 V supply, the LM358APW covers common 5 V and 12 V rails without needing a split supply.
Temperature grade — keep it indoors
It belongs in office equipment, appliances, benchtop instruments, and indoor control boards. Do not spec it for an automotive ECU, a rooftop telecom enclosure, or a factory floor where the ambient can dip below freezing — the input offset voltage (2 mV typical,) and bias current (15 nA,) will drift outside the datasheet limits below 0°C.
