Boost LED driver for backlight strings
The LM3532TMX-40A/NOPB is a Texas Instruments DC-DC boost regulator designed to drive LED backlight strings in portable displays. Three independent outputs each sink 30 mA, controlled via PWM dimming at a 500 kHz switching frequency.
Housed in a 16-bump DSBGA (2.5 x 2.12 mm), this is a wafer-level chip-scale package. The 0.5 mm pitch and 0.3 mm ball diameter mean the board-side landing pattern is tight — a 2-layer PCB with micro-vias handles fan-out, but the pad layout must match the TI recommended footprint to avoid solder bridging under reflow. The DSBGA's thermal resistance is dominated by the PCB copper area under the package — no exposed pad, so the heat flows through the solder balls into the board traces.
ROHS3 compliant per, with no halogen or lead restrictions beyond the standard exemption set.
