Product details

Boost regulator with I²C dimming for dual LED strings

Brightness control is handled via the I²C interface, allowing precise dimming of the LED strings without additional PWM components.

21 V output ceiling and dual-channel drive

With a maximum output voltage of 21 V, the LM3509SDE/NOPB can drive up to five or six series-connected white LEDs per channel, depending on their forward voltage. The two outputs are independent, so one channel can power the main display while the other drives a secondary indicator or keypad backlight, or both can be paralleled for higher current into a single string.

Frequently asked questions

Can LM3509SDE/NOPB be used for automotive backlight?

It is not listed as AEC-Q100 qualified, so it is not recommended for automotive-grade designs without additional qualification.
