Boost regulator for dual-channel backlight
It integrates two outputs with a 400 mA (switch) current capability, switching at 1 MHz to keep external inductor and capacitor values small. Output voltage is regulated to 16 V, making it suitable for driving series-connected LEDs in small- to medium-sized LCD panels.
Dimming flexibility and package reality
Dimming is supported in both analog and PWM modes — the PWM input can be fed directly from a microcontroller GPIO or a PWM backlight controller, giving the designer a choice between linear brightness control and high-efficiency pulsed dimming. The part comes in a 10-bump TµSMD (DSBGA) package, 1.9 x 2.07 mm. That tiny footprint saves board space but demands a controlled solder-paste stencil and reflow profile — hand-soldering is impractical.
