What the 10 mV/°F output means for your circuit
The LM34AH/NOPB outputs 10 mV for every degree Fahrenheit — no scaling resistors or external reference needed. At 77°F the output sits at 770 mV; at 212°F it reads 2.12 V. A simple voltmeter or ADC input gives you the temperature directly. Accuracy is ±1°F typical, ±2°F over the full -50°F to 300°F range. That is tight enough for most HVAC, environmental monitoring, or industrial process checks without calibration.
Supply voltage and integration flexibility
Runs on any supply from 4 V to 30 V — a 5 V or 12 V rail works fine, and the output stays proportional to temperature regardless of supply variation. The low self-heating (0.2°F typical in still air) means the reading reflects the environment, not the chip. The TO-46 metal can (TO-206AB) is hermetically sealed — it handles condensation, dust, and thermal cycling better than plastic packages. Through-hole mounting makes it easy to prototype or retrofit into existing boards.
