High-side switch for 3.3 V / 5 V rails
The Texas Instruments LM34904ITM/NOPB is a single-channel high-side N-channel power switch in a 6-DSBGA package, rated for load voltages from 2.8 V to 5.3 V and a continuous output of 500 mA. It is a general-purpose load switch for portable, battery-powered, and embedded systems where a small footprint and integrated protection matter. The switch is self-powered — no separate Vcc supply needed — and includes a status flag output plus fixed current limiting and over-temperature shutdown.
500 mA output with 400 mOhm on-resistance
At 500 mA the 400 mOhm typical Rds(on) yields conduction loss. The fixed current limit is non-adjustable, so the load must stay within the 500 mA absolute maximum.
Fault protection and status flag
Built-in current limiting (fixed, not adjustable) and over-temperature protection cover the common fault cases — shorted load or excessive ambient. The status flag output (open-drain, active low) signals over-current or thermal shutdown to the host controller. Because the flag is a logic output, it needs a pull-up resistor to the host supply (not the load rail). No separate Vcc pin means the switch is always ready when the load rail is present; there is no enable threshold to sequence.
