Precision 2.49 V shunt reference in SOIC-8
It is designed for applications requiring a stable reference voltage — ADC/DAC references, comparator thresholds, and power-supply monitoring — in commercial-temperature environments (0°C to 70°C).
Output rating and bias conditions
The output is fixed at 2.49 V (nominal 2.5 V with ±2% absolute tolerance), meaning the reference voltage can vary from 2.44 V to 2.54 V over temperature and unit-to-unit. For a 12-bit ADC with a 2.5 V full-scale, that tolerance translates to roughly ±8 LSB of absolute error — acceptable for many industrial control loops but marginal for high-accuracy metering without calibration. The device can source up to 10 mA of output current while maintaining regulation, and requires a minimum cathode current of 400 µA to stay in the shunt active region. In low-power designs, the bias resistor must be sized so the sum of the load current and the 400 µA cathode current does not drop the cathode voltage below the 2.49 V threshold at the minimum supply voltage.
Commercial temperature grade — not for under-hood or industrial
