Analog temperature sensing with a linear 10 mV/K output
The Texas Instruments LM335H is an analog, local temperature sensor that outputs a voltage directly proportional to absolute temperature at 10 mV per degree Kelvin. This means a reading of 2.98 V at the output pin corresponds to 298 K (25 °C), making it straightforward to interface with an ADC or comparator without complex scaling. Housed in a TO-206AB (TO-46-3) metal can package, it is a through-hole device suitable for breadboard prototyping and hand-soldering. The metal can provides good thermal coupling to the environment being measured, which is useful for sensing air temperature or attaching to a heatsink. The accuracy is specified as ±6 °C at 25 °C, with a wider ±9 °C across the full temperature range.
