What the 10 mV/°K output means for your ADC input
The LM335AH/NOPB produces an analog voltage directly proportional to absolute temperature at 10 mV per degree Kelvin. At 25°C (298.15 K), the output sits at 2.982 V — no external scaling resistor or amplifier is needed between the sensor and a typical 0-5 V or 0-3.3 V ADC input. That is tight enough for board-level thermal monitoring, overtemperature shutdown triggers, or ambient compensation in a control loop — but not for medical-grade thermometry.
TO-46 metal can — why the package matters for your board
The TO-206AB (TO-46-3) is a hermetic three-lead metal can, through-hole mounted. The metal case shields the die from radiated EMI better than a plastic SOT-23, and the hermetic seal keeps moisture out — relevant if the board sees condensation or conformal coating. Supplied in Bulk, not tape-and-reel — expect loose tubes or bags. For a kitting line that feeds pick-and-place, this part needs manual insertion or a tube feeder conversion; it is not reel-ready for automated assembly.
