10V fixed rail, 1A continuous, 1V max dropout
The LM2940SX-10/NOPB is a fixed 10V output LDO regulator from Texas Instruments, rated for 1A continuous output current. The maximum dropout voltage is 1V at the full 1A load, meaning the input rail needs to stay above 11V to keep the output in regulation — a common margin for 12V vehicle or industrial supplies. Power supply rejection ratio is 63 dB at 120 Hz, which filters line ripple from a rectified AC source or a switching pre-regulator.
Protection set and temperature range
On-chip protection includes over current, over temperature, reverse polarity, and short circuit — these reduce the need for external clamp diodes or foldback circuits on a 10V rail.
Active lifecycle, DDPAK package availability
It is supplied in the DDPAK/TO-263-3 package, also known as TO-263-4 (3 leads plus tab). The tape-and-reel variant (SX suffix) is the standard ordering option for automated assembly; cut-tape quantities are also available through distribution.
