Fixed 15 V rail for legacy industrial loads

Dropout and quiescent — the headroom trade-off
Maximum dropout is 1 V at the full 1 A load, meaning the input must stay at least 1 V above 15 V to maintain regulation. Quiescent current is 10 mA typical, rising to 15 mA max under heavy load — not a low-Iq part, but acceptable for loads where the 15 V rail is always drawing current.
Protection set for rugged environments
On-chip protection includes over-current, over-temperature, reverse polarity, and short-circuit. The reverse-polarity clamp is a practical safeguard for industrial supplies where the input connector can be miswired.
