12V fixed output for powering analog and logic rails
The Texas Instruments LM2937IMPX-12/NOPB is a fixed-output positive LDO voltage regulator delivering 12 V at up to 400 mA. It is suited for supplying analog front-ends, sensor interfaces, or logic-level rails in industrial control and telecom equipment where a clean 12 V bus is needed from an input as high as 26 V.
Dropout voltage and headroom budget
The maximum dropout voltage is 1 V at 50 mA output. For a 12 V output, the input must stay above 13 V to maintain regulation at light loads; at full 400 mA output the dropout will be higher, so budget at least 14 V input to cover worst-case conditions across temperature.
Protection features reduce external circuitry
Built-in over-temperature, reverse polarity, and short-circuit protection allow the regulator to survive a faulted output or a reversed supply without external clamping diodes or crowbars. This simplifies the BOM and improves reliability in automotive and industrial environments where supply transients are common.
