Dual differential comparator for automotive and industrial threshold sensing
It compares two analog input voltages and drives a digital output high or low based on the difference.
The 20mA typical output current drives an optocoupler LED or a small relay coil directly. Maximum input offset voltage is 7mV at 5V — this sets the comparator's switching threshold accuracy. For a 12V battery monitoring circuit, 7mV represents about 0.06% of the rail, well within typical hysteresis margins. The 0.25µA maximum input bias current at 5V keeps the error from source impedance low; a 10kΩ source adds only 2.5mV of additional offset. Quiescent current maxes at 2.5mA per device — for a dual comparator this is 1.25mA per channel. In a battery-powered ECU or sensor module, this quiescent draw is a design constraint to budget against the sleep-mode current target.
