Dual comparator with a supply range that covers 5V, 12V, and 24V rails
The Texas Instruments LM2903MX/NOPB is a general-purpose dual comparator in an 8-SOIC package. Its supply range spans 2 V to 36 V (single supply) or ±1 V to ±18 V (dual supply), so the same part can sit on a 5 V logic rail, a 12 V industrial bus, or a 24 V automotive line without a separate regulator.
Output flexibility and input offset budget
The open-collector outputs interface with CMOS, TTL, DTL, ECL, or MOS logic families — the pull-up resistor sets the logic-high level, so the comparator can feed a 3.3 V microcontroller input while running on a 12 V supply. Maximum input offset voltage is 7 mV at 30 V supply. For a threshold-detection circuit with a 100 mV reference, that 7 mV offset eats 7 % of the window — budget it in the trip-point resistor divider. Input bias current is 0.25 µA max at 5 V, negligible for most divider networks.
