Dual comparator in a 0.4 mm pitch BGA
It integrates two independent comparator channels with an open-collector output stage that interfaces directly to CMOS, TTL, or ECL logic families. The supply range spans 2V to 36V single supply or ±1V to ±18V dual supplies, making it a drop-in for legacy 5V, 12V, or 24V industrial rails without a secondary regulator.
The 700 ns maximum propagation delay sets the comparator's response in feedback and threshold-detection circuits. For a 100 kHz PWM cycle (10 µs period), the 700 ns delay adds 7 % phase lag — acceptable for most motor-drive and power-supply control loops, but too slow for high-frequency resonant converters or fast overcurrent detection below 1 µs. The 0.25 µA maximum input bias current at 5 V keeps the error from source impedance below 1 mV for a 4 kΩ Thévenin resistance.
The 8-DSBGA package (0.4 mm ball pitch) demands a controlled solder-paste stencil and X-ray inspection — not a hand-assembly or rework-friendly footprint. The quiescent current per channel is 2.5 mA maximum, which keeps the thermal budget low in the small package — the DSBGA's junction-to-board thermal resistance is roughly 100 °C/W, so at 5 V supply the 12.5 mW dissipation per comparator stays well within the derating curve.
