AEC-Q100 quad comparator for 12V/24V automotive rails
Four independent open-collector outputs per package allow wired-OR connections and level translation to 5V or 3.3V logic without external level shifters.
The 2.5mA maximum quiescent current per package sets the power budget for always-on sense circuits — four comparators drawing under 3 mA total keeps the module standby current within automotive sleep-mode targets. For precision sensing below 10mV, a lower-offset comparator family would be needed. The 0.25µA maximum input bias current at 5V allows the use of high-value (1MΩ+) divider resistors without introducing significant voltage error, useful for long-duration timer circuits and slow-moving sensor signals. Each output can sink 20mA typical, enough to drive an optocoupler LED or a small relay coil directly, though a series current-limit resistor is still required.
Supplied in a 14-SOIC package (3.90mm body width), surface-mount, compatible with standard reflow profiles.
