Quad comparator with wide supply and open-collector flexibility
The LM2901N/PB: It integrates four independent comparator channels with open-collector outputs that can interface directly with CMOS, TTL, MOS, DTL, and ECL logic families without external level translators. The supply range spans 2V to 32V single-supply or ±1V to ±16V dual-supply, making it suitable for systems with unregulated rails, battery backup, or split supplies.

Each comparator can sink 16mA at 5V, sufficient to drive a logic input, an LED indicator, or a small relay coil through the open-collector pin. The quiescent current per device is 2.5mA max, keeping the power budget manageable in multi-channel designs. Input offset voltage is 7mV max at 5V, and input bias current is 0.25µA max at 5V — adequate for threshold detection, zero-crossing detectors, and window comparators where precision below 5mV is not required. The through-hole 14-DIP (0.300", 7.62mm) package is easy to hand-assemble, socket, or rework, and the 0.100-inch pin pitch matches standard prototyping boards.
