1.5 A, 3 MHz step-down — input range and output floor
The LM2831ZMF/NOPB: Switching at 3 MHz, the output is adjustable from a 0.6 V reference up to 4.5 V. The 3 MHz switching frequency allows small inductor and capacitor values, shrinking the total solution footprint — relevant for space-constrained designs in portable or distributed-power applications.
Package and temperature grade
This covers industrial ambient conditions and allows some margin in enclosures with limited airflow.
Non-synchronous topology — external diode required
The LM2831ZMF/NOPB does not integrate a synchronous rectifier. A low-Vf Schottky diode must be placed externally between the switch node and ground. This adds one BOM line and a small PCB footprint but keeps the IC cost lower than a synchronous alternative.
It is ROHS3 compliant.
