Buck controller with synchronous rectification
The Texas Instruments LM2743MTC/NOPB is a voltage-mode buck controller delivering a transistor-drive output for step-down regulation. It operates from a 3V to 6V supply rail and integrates synchronous rectification, which eliminates the external freewheeling diode and improves efficiency at lower output voltages.
Switching frequency and control flexibility
At 1MHz the inductor can be as small as a 4.7µH for a 3.3V output, but the 80% maximum duty cycle limits the step-down ratio — the output cannot exceed 80% of the input voltage. Control features include current limit, enable, power good, soft start, and tracking. The soft start ramps the output voltage on startup to prevent inrush current; the tracking input allows the output to follow another voltage rail during power sequencing.
