3A fixed 12V buck regulator for industrial power rails

The LM2576S-12 is a fixed 12 V output, 3 A step-down buck regulator from the SIMPLE SWITCHER® series. It operates from a 4 V to 40 V input range at a 52 kHz switching frequency, with no synchronous rectifier — the external Schottky diode handles the catch current. The 52 kHz switching frequency keeps inductor core losses modest and simplifies PCB layout.

New builds should evaluate a drop-in replacement from the same SIMPLE SWITCHER® family before a last-time-buy notice appears.

TO-263-5 package and thermal management

Supplied in a TO-263-5 (DDPAK) surface-mount package with an exposed tab on the D²Pak footprint. The tab is the ground path and the primary heat sink.
