Wide-input buck controller — 4.5 V to 42 V, 1 MHz
The LM25085AMM/NOPB is a constant-on-time (COT) buck controller from Texas Instruments, accepting an input supply from 4.5 V to 42 V. The 100% duty-cycle capability means it can pass the input rail almost unattenuated to the output — useful when the battery voltage sags close to the regulation target. Switching frequency reaches up to 1 MHz, letting the designer pick smaller inductors and output capacitors to fit tight PCB layouts. The 8-VSSOP package keeps the component height low on the board.
It is RoHS3 compliant, which covers EU and most global regulatory requirements without exemption riders.
Temperature range and control features
The operating junction temperature spans -40°C to 125°C, covering both industrial enclosures and under-hood automotive ambient. Control features include current limit and frequency control — the oscillator can be synchronized or adjusted to dodge noisy frequency bands.
