The LDC1612DNTR is a 28-bit inductance-to-digital converter from Texas Instruments, part of the Automotive, AEC-Q100 series. It converts the inductance of an external coil into a digital value over an I²C interface, enabling contactless position, displacement, and metal-target sensing without a magnet. With two independent channels and a sampling rate of 4.08 kSPS, it supports simultaneous measurements from two sensors — useful for differential position sensing or monitoring two separate targets on the same assembly.

Supply range, temperature grade, and interface

Communication is over I²C, so the host MCU reads the 28-bit conversion result directly — no external ADC or analog front-end needed. The 12-WSON (4x4) package with exposed pad aids thermal dissipation in the confined ECU enclosure.
