Six-channel digital isolator for harsh-environment signal isolation
The Texas Instruments ISO7762FDBQ is a six-channel, unidirectional digital isolator from the ISO776x family, using capacitive coupling to provide 3000Vrms galvanic isolation across the barrier. It supports a data rate of 100Mbps with propagation delays of 16ns max and pulse-width distortion under 4.9ns, making it suitable for high-speed serial interfaces such as SPI, UART, and CAN in noisy industrial and automotive environments. The wide supply range of 2.25V to 5.5V on both sides allows direct connection to 3.3V and 5V logic without external level shifters. With a common-mode transient immunity of 85kV/µs minimum, this part is designed to maintain signal integrity in motor drives, inverters, and other applications with fast-switching power stages.
Temperature range and package — designed for extended-reliability deployment
The 16-pin SSOP package (3.90mm body width) is a surface-mount footprint common in space-constrained designs. The part is surface-mount only, so board assembly must account for the fine-pitch SSOP land pattern.
Channel configuration and signal direction
This device provides four channels on side 1 and two channels on side 2, all unidirectional. The 4/2 split is typical for isolating a master SPI bus (SCLK, MOSI, MISO, CS) plus two additional control signals from the secondary side. Because all channels are unidirectional, the part cannot be used for bidirectional data lines without external direction control — a half-duplex RS-485 or I2C isolator would require a different channel arrangement.
