5000Vrms reinforced isolation in a 16-SOIC
The Texas Instruments ISO7741DW is a four-channel digital isolator using capacitive coupling to pass signals across a reinforced isolation barrier rated at 5000Vrms.
85 kV/µs CMTI — why it matters for motor drives and inverters
Common-mode transient immunity is rated at a minimum 85 kV/µs. In a motor-drive or inverter stage where IGBT or SiC switching edges slam the local ground plane, that CMTI rating means the isolator won't falsely toggle its output when the common-mode voltage jumps. The 2.4 ns typical rise/fall time keeps the output edges clean enough to avoid excessive EMI on the secondary side.
Each side of the isolation barrier can be powered independently from 2.25 V up to 5.5 V. No isolated power converter is integrated — the ISO7741DW is a signal isolator only, so each side needs its own supply rail.
Temperature grade: full military range
The wide-body SOIC package helps with creepage distance for the 5000Vrms rating at the high end of that range.
Package and rework considerations
The 16-SOIC wide-body (7.50 mm body width, 1.27 mm pitch) is a friendly package for hand rework.
