25 Mbps capacitive isolator — what the ratings mean in the field
The 2500 Vrms isolation rating is the reinforced-insulation tier for equipment that needs a safety barrier between logic and field sides. The 25 Mbps data rate supports typical fieldbus interfaces. The 42 ns propagation delay is the maximum per the datasheet. All four channels drive from side 1 to side 2, so plan the signal flow accordingly.
Package and footprint — 16-SOIC wide-body
The wide-body gives better creepage distance for the 2500 Vrms rating compared to a narrow SOIC. No isolated power on-chip — you supply separate rails to each side, which is the usual practice for digital isolators. The tape-and-reel variant (CDWR suffix) is the standard production reel. If you only need a few for prototyping, the cut-tape option is available. The base product number ISO7240 covers the family; the C and D in the suffix denote the temperature grade and package variant.
