Dual-channel capacitive isolator for industrial signal isolation
The ISO7221CDRG4: It provides galvanic isolation for digital signals in a unidirectional 1/1 channel configuration (one channel per direction), operating from a wide 2.8V to 5.5V supply range.
25 Mbps data rate and 2 ns pulse-width distortion — timing budget for the bus
At 25 Mbps, the part handles SPI, UART, and general-purpose logic-level isolation without timing margin issues for most industrial interfaces. The maximum propagation delay of 42 ns (tpLH/tpHL) and pulse-width distortion of 2 ns keep skew tight enough for synchronous links. Rise and fall times are a typical 1 ns, so the signal integrity at the receiver end is clean even across a long bus.
2500Vrms isolation and 25 kV/µs CMTI — where it fits
Rated for 2500Vrms, it suits basic isolation in industrial automation, motor drives, and isolated data-acquisition systems. The 25 kV/µs common-mode transient immunity means it holds up in inverter and switching power-supply environments where high dV/dt edges would otherwise corrupt the data path. No isolated power is provided on-chip — the secondary side needs its own supply rail.
