The two channels are both directed from side 1 to side 2 (2/0 input/output configuration), so it handles downstream signal flow only — no bidirectional or reverse-channel capability. Rated for 2500 Vrms isolation and a common-mode transient immunity of 25 kV/µs minimum, it is built for industrial environments where ground-potential differences and noise transients are a concern.
The 2500 Vrms isolation voltage is the basic working rating for reinforced insulation in many industrial and medical applications. If the CMTI is too low, the output glitches or latches, and the system faults. At 25 kV/µs, this part clears the margin for most 400 V to 690 V drive stages without needing an external snubber or ferrite.
Package and footprint reality for the layout
No exposed thermal pad, so the dissipation path is through the leads and the board copper; at 150 Mbps with a 5.5 V supply and a 15 pF load, the junction temperature stays well within the 125°C limit in still air, but a 4-layer board with a ground plane under the device is recommended for consistent thermal and noise performance.
That removes the obsolescence risk for a new design-in.
