2500Vrms isolation for an I²C bus that crosses a galvanic barrier
1 Mbps, 125°C, 25 kV/µs — the three numbers that decide fit
Data rate is capped at 1 Mbps, which covers standard-mode and fast-mode I²C but not high-speed (3.4 MHz) or ultra-fast (5 MHz) modes. If your bus runs at 400 kHz or below, this part has margin; if you need to push 3.4 MHz, look at the ISO1541QDQ1 sibling (same pinout, same isolation, same temperature grade, but with a different channel configuration — the ISO1540QDQ1 has two bidirectional channels, while the ISO1541QDQ1 has one bidirectional and one unidirectional channel for clock stretching).
Active lifecycle, AEC-Q100 traceability
The AEC-Q100 qualification means each production lot is tested to the automotive stress standards (pre- and post-stress electrical test, high-temperature operating life, temperature cycling, and ESD). For a tier-one ECU program, the PPAP submission should include the AEC-Q100 report and the certificate of compliance — verify the date-code and lot traceability with your distributor at quote time.
Supply voltage range is 3V to 5.5V on both sides, so it can interface a 3.3V MCU domain to a 5V sensor bus without level translation — the bidirectional channels handle the voltage shift as long as each side's supply is within its own range.
