What the INA240A1EDRQ1 does on the board
It measures current across a shunt resistor and outputs a voltage proportional to the shunt drop, with a 400 kHz bandwidth and a 2V/µs slew rate that keep up with fast load transients in motor-drive and solenoid circuits. The 5 µV input offset voltage and zero-drift architecture mean the output error stays small over temperature and time — important when the sense voltage across the shunt is only a few millivolts at light load.
8-SOIC package with 0.154-inch body width — the same footprint as a standard SOIC-8 op-amp. The 1.8 mA quiescent supply current is low enough that the amplifier does not dominate the thermal budget in a sealed ECU enclosure.
