Current-sense monitor with ±0.5% accuracy across a 36 V common-mode range
The Texas Instruments INA230AIDGSR is a current monitor that measures shunt voltage across a sense resistor on either the high side or low side of the supply rail, with a common-mode input range from 0 V to 36 V. The ±0.5% accuracy figure is the total unadjusted error across the full input range and temperature band — not a best-case number at one operating point. For a 10 A load through a 10 mΩ shunt, the current reading uncertainty is ±50 mA before any external gain or offset calibration.
The 10-VSSOP footprint is shared with other TI current-sense monitors in the same family — the pad layout and pin spacing are identical, so a single PCB land pattern can serve multiple BOM variants. The Tape & Reel option is the standard delivery format for automated pick-and-place assembly.
This makes it suitable for motor-drive cabinets, telecom rectifiers, and battery-management systems where the ambient inside the enclosure can exceed 85°C. The 10 mA output current is the maximum the monitor can source into a downstream ADC or comparator — it is not the load current being measured.
