Automotive current sense in a TSOT-23-8 footprint
The rail-to-rail output stage and 45 kHz bandwidth support direct connection to an ADC for real-time current feedback in motor drives, solenoid control, and battery monitoring.
48 µA supply, 3 µV offset — precision where it counts
With a quiescent current of 48 µA, this amplifier adds negligible load to the regulated supply rail — important for always-on modules in automotive body controllers and battery-management systems. The 3 µV input offset voltage and 500 pA input bias current allow accurate measurement across low-value shunt resistors (sub-milliohm) without significant voltage error. The 0.3 V/µs slew rate and 45 kHz bandwidth are a deliberate trade-off: fast enough to capture solenoid inrush and load-step events, but filtered enough to reject high-frequency switching noise from adjacent DC-DC converters.
This part is specified for the thermal extremes found in engine compartments, transmission control units, and exhaust-aftertreatment electronics. The TSOT-23-8 package (supplier device package TSOT-23-8) keeps the board footprint small, which helps when routing multiple sense channels on a dense ECU layout.
