175 µA supply — what it buys the BOM
At 175 µA quiescent, this amp sips less current than many single op-amps. In a 4-20 mA loop-powered transmitter, that leaves more headroom for the sensor excitation and the microcontroller. The 10 mA output drive per channel is enough to swing into a successive-approximation ADC's input stage or a 10 kΩ load. The input bias current is 10 nA, which keeps the voltage drop across source resistors manageable — important when the bridge impedance is in the kΩ range and you do not want the bias current to create an offset error.
The 8-VSSOP footprint is shared with many general-purpose op-amps, so the board layout can often accommodate a drop-in swap if the design moves to a different amplifier later.
