Quad-channel LVDS redriver for high-speed serial links
The Texas Instruments DS90LV804TSQ is a four-channel LVDS buffer and redriver designed to regenerate and retransmit high-speed differential signals across backplanes, cables, or long PCB traces. Each channel supports a maximum data rate of 800 Mbps, making it suitable for Serial RapidIO, Gigabit Ethernet, or other point-to-point serial links that need signal conditioning over distances beyond a few inches of FR-4. The part operates from a 3.15 V to 3.45 V supply — a tight window that expects a clean 3.3 V rail — and draws 117 mA typical. Input capacitance is 3.5 pF per channel, which keeps the load light on the driving side.
Surface-mount only — the WQFN package is not hand-solder friendly without a hot-air station and a stencil for the exposed pad.
NRND — last-time-buy planning needed
This means TI has flagged it for eventual discontinuation; new designs should avoid it, and existing production runs should secure final orders or qualify a replacement before the last-time-buy window closes.
