LVDS transceiver for automotive and industrial serial links
It is designed for high-speed point-to-point or multidrop data transmission over twisted-pair or PCB traces, supporting a data rate of 400 Mbps per channel.
At 400 Mbps each channel delivers a 200 MHz clock-equivalent edge rate. The LVDS swing (~350 mV differential) keeps EMI low, but the 400 Mbps figure sets the cable length limit: with good-quality twisted pair, expect clean eyes up to about 10 meters. The full-duplex architecture means the two driver/receiver pairs can transmit and receive simultaneously, halving the cable count compared to half-duplex schemes. Supply range of 3V to 3.6V aligns with standard 3.3V logic rails; no additional regulator is needed if the rail is within that window.
The base product number DS90LV049 covers the broader family; the QMT suffix denotes the automotive-grade, 125°C-rated variant in TSSOP, and the /NOPB suffix confirms lead-free (NiPdAu) finish.
AEC-Q100 and the 125°C rating
AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualification means this transceiver is characterized and reliability-tested for automotive under-hood environments. For industrial users, the same temperature grade simplifies BOM consolidation — one part serves both factory-floor and outdoor telecom gear without derating.
