400 Mbps LVDS driver for industrial serial links
It converts single-ended TTL/CMOS inputs into low-voltage differential outputs, designed for point-to-point or multidrop backplane interconnects, flat-panel display interfaces, and high-speed control links in industrial automation, telecom, and test equipment.
At 400 Mbps the driver can push a 5-meter twisted-pair cable at typical LVDS signal swing (~350 mV differential) with enough eye opening for the receiver to resolve clean data. The 400 Mbps per channel is the raw bit rate; in practice the achievable throughput depends on the cable's bandwidth and the receiver's jitter tolerance. For shorter PCB traces (under 30 cm) the margin is generous — the limiting factor is usually the connector's return loss, not the driver.
The differential signalling inherently rejects common-mode noise that couples into long cables in factory-floor installations. No derating is needed at the upper end of the temperature range for the 400 Mbps data rate — the output swing stays within spec across the full temperature band.
