400 Mbps — what the data rate means for your link budget
The 400 Mbps rating is the maximum data rate the receiver can reliably recover. In practice, that translates to a 200 MHz clock frequency for DDR signaling or 400 MHz for SDR. The LVDS protocol gives you a 350 mV swing across a 100 Ω termination, which keeps EMI low and noise immunity high over twisted-pair or PCB traces up to several meters. If your system runs at 100 Mbps or lower, this part has generous margin; at the full 400 Mbps, pay attention to PCB layout — keep the differential pair impedance controlled and the stub length short.
Industrial temperature range and 3.3V supply
The receiver input common-mode range is typically 0V to 2.4V with a 3.3V supply, which matches the LVDS output swing from a standard driver. The 8-SOIC footprint is a common one; the same board layout can accept an active-production sibling if you need to switch.
