Single LVDS driver for automotive serial links
The driver accepts a single-ended LVCMOS/LVTTL input and outputs a differential LVDS signal compliant with TIA/EIA-644 standards.
Supply rail and signal integrity
At 400 Mbps, the differential output swing is typically 350 mV into a 100 Ω termination, which keeps EMI low and allows cable runs up to several meters in automotive harnesses. The driver does not require external bias or termination resistors on the output side — the receiver end provides the 100 Ω termination. Input thresholds are LVTTL-compatible, so no level shifting is needed when driving from a 3.3V FPGA or MCU I/O.
This covers engine compartment, transmission, and exterior sensor modules where ambient temperatures can exceed 105°C. The part is also ROHS3 compliant.
Housed in a 5-lead SOT-23 (SC-74A) package, the DS90LV011AQMFE/NOPB occupies minimal board area — roughly 3 mm × 3 mm. The SOT-23-5 footprint is standard and widely supported by PCB layout tools. For high-temperature automotive environments, ensure the solder paste profile matches the package's MSL rating (typically MSL 1 for this family, but verify with the latest TI PCN).
