Signal-conditioning redriver for 10 Gbps serial links
The DS100BR210SQE/NOPB is a 2-channel CML buffer and reDriver from Texas Instruments, designed to extend the reach of high-speed serial links operating up to 10.3 Gbps per lane. It integrates input equalization and output de-emphasis, compensating for channel loss and ISI in backplane or cable traces, so the eye diagram at the receiver remains open across longer FR4 runs or thinner cables.
Channel budget and signal integrity at 10.3 Gbps
With a 230 ps typical delay per channel, the reDriver adds minimal latency to the link — important for protocols where round-trip time budgets are tight, such as SAS or 10GbE KR. The 10 pF input capacitance loads the upstream driver's output, but the integrated equalisation recovers the signal before re-driving it; the total jitter contribution stays within the link budget when the part is placed mid-channel rather than at the source.
