1.75 A per bridge — sizing the load budget
Each of the four half-bridges delivers 1.75 A continuous. That figure is the per-bridge current limit; the total package dissipation must be checked against the thermal impedance of the 28-HTSSOP pad. For a bipolar stepper winding at 1.75 A, the copper area on the PCB and any forced airflow determine whether the part stays within its 150°C junction limit.
The 150°C TJ ceiling is the silicon limit, not the board-level rating — the thermal pad of the 28-HTSSOP must be soldered to a sufficient copper pour to keep the die below that threshold under full load.
