Interface and control — analog or PWM
The DRV8662RGPR accepts both analog and PWM input signals, giving the system designer flexibility. An analog voltage from a DAC sets the output amplitude linearly; a PWM signal from an MCU timer can be filtered to an analog level or used directly. This dual-interface capability simplifies integration into existing haptic controller architectures — no level-shifting or protocol translation required. The fully integrated control and power stage means the external BOM stays small: a few bypass capacitors, the piezo load, and optionally a feedback resistor for gain setting.
Sourcing and compliance
The DRV8662RGPR is an active, current-production part from Texas Instruments. It is ROHS3 compliant. No last-time-buy or phase-out notice is in effect.
