Integrated BLDC drive in a compact PowerTSSOP
The DRV8313PWPR from Texas Instruments is a fully integrated motor driver combining control logic and a three-phase power stage in a single 28-PowerTSSOP package. It drives brushless DC (BLDC) motors directly, with three half-bridge outputs built from Power MOSFETs, eliminating the need for separate gate drivers and discrete FETs on the board. The parallel interface simplifies connection to a host microcontroller — no SPI or I²C overhead for basic forward/reverse/brake control.
Temperature grade and package fit
The 28-HTSSOP package includes an exposed thermal pad; the board layout must connect this pad to a copper plane for the junction-to-ambient thermal path to stay within the 150°C ceiling.
