46 A half-bridge with AEC-Q100 — the scorch-mark test
The DRV8145HQRXZRQ1 is a fully integrated half-bridge driver for brushed DC motors, rated for 46 A continuous output at load voltages from 4.5 V to 35 V. That current rating is the one that matters when a motor stalls or starts under load — the internal Power MOSFETs handle the surge without the package letting the smoke out first. The 16-VQFN-HR (3.5x5.5 mm) package with exposed pad sinks the heat into the PCB copper pour; the board layout determines the actual thermal limit, not the silicon alone. SPI interface provides register-based current regulation, fault reporting, and diagnostic readback — no external op-amps or comparators for current sensing.
The 16-VQFN-HR package is a standard footprint; no special reflow profile beyond the JEDEC MSL level for the exposed-pad QFN family.
